While the college has had students transfer to other institutions, the issue of transfer of credits is left with the receiving institutions. The United States Department of Education (USDOE) wrote the following in their publication on accreditation:
Accreditation does not provide automatic acceptance by an institution of credit earned in another institution…[A]cceptance of students or graduates is always the prerogative of the receiving institution…[F]or this reason…students should take additional measures to determine, prior to enrollment, whether or not their educational goals will be met through attendance at a particular institution. These measures should include inquiries to institutions to which transfer might be desired.
All degree programs of Whitefield College are intended for religious training in vocations of Christian service, and taught from a Christian world and life view. We encourage all students to consider the recommendations of the U.S. Department of Education concerning transfer of credits prior to enrolling with Whitefield College. This is especially important for students seeking to transfer to other colleges, or to pursue advanced degree programs after their collegial studies.
We encourage all graduating students to take one of the following nationally recognized examinations, or an equivalent:
GMAT – Graduate Management Admission Test
GRE – Graduate Record Exam
NCLEX – National Council Licensure Exam
These examinations allow graduate schools to evaluate the scholastic achievements of applicants on an impartial basis, regardless of the college they attended. All USDOE accredited institutions are permitted to take a percentage of students from non USDOE accredited institutions, and a number of Whitefield graduates, at both undergraduate and graduate levels, have been accepted at state and private universities. |
